Ballet Staatstheater Nürnberg

Under the direction of young Spanish balletdirector and principal choreographer Goyo Montero a completely new ballet company started at Nuremberg with the season 2008/09
The work of the company is based on a strong classical fundament and at the same time it focusses on contemporary dance language.
With his 19 soloists from 10 nations, Goyo Montero has succeeded in very short time to form an ensemble \\\"that took the hearts of the audience by storm\\\" (Nürnberger Zeitung).
Audience and Critics answered with overwhelming positive response to the three productions within the first season of Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett. More than 20.000 guests saw the performances of the Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett within the first year: Goyo Montero\\\'s choreographies \\\"Benditos Malditos\\\" - his homage to musicians and poets who have since long inspired him - as well as his adaptations of Shakespeare\\\'s tragedies, Montero\\\'s \\\"Romeo and Juliet\\\" and \\\"Desde Otello\\\".
At the beginning of the second season Goyo Montero has been awarded with the Cultural Prize of the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the sucessful start of the ballet company in Nuremberg.
