ZARA DEAKIN trained at The Royal Ballet School, London. Whilst training at the Royal Ballet School Sir Frederick Ashton created the role of Elizabeth in the Ballet Fanfare for Zara in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday. She was hired by Peter Schaufuss both in English National Ballet, and as a Principal Dancer at the Deutsche Oper Berlin where she danced a variety of major principal roles including Giselle, Sylphide, Cinderella, Symphony in C, Agon, Le Sacre Du Printemps and Brunhilde in Ring um den Ring.

Deakin joined The Peter Schaufuss Ballet as a founding member, and since has created the roles of Black Swan, Carabosse and Blackboss in the award winning TCHAIKOVSKY TRILOGY: SWAN LAKE, SLEEPING BEAUTY & NUTCRACKER, Gertrude in HAMLET, Juliet in ROMEO & JULIET, the Alter Ego in THE KING, soloists role in THE MAN WHO WISHED FOR A SEA VIEW, Angel of Death in MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, Afrodite in KERMESS IN BRUGES-THE THREE GIFTS and the Nightingale in H.C. ANDERSEN. Deakin has also danced soloists’ role in SHE LOVES YOU and danced in THE NIGHTWATCH and HARALD.
