Born in Leningrad. Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (class L. Kovaleva) in 1995 and joined the Kirov ballet. Principal since 1996.

  • "Baltika" Prize winner (for "Best Duet"), 1998
  • Laureate of the State Award of Russia (for the title roles in the Mariinsky Theatre performances: "The Sleeping Beauty", "Manon", "Le jeune homme et la mort", "Sheherazade"), 2000
  • Winner of the Golden Mask National Theatre Award (for the role in G. Balanchine production "Rubies") 2001
  • Dance Europe magazine Dancer of the Year Award 2002
  • Laureate of the "Spirit of dance" in "Queen of dance" nomination by "Ballet" magazine, 2003
