Steven was born in Sydney. He trained with Hilary Kaplan and then at The Royal Ballet School (2003–4). Since joining The Royal Ballet his roles have included the Side Couple in Frederick Ashton’s Symphonic Variations, Pas de trois in Les Rendezvous, the Cat in Will Tuckett’s Mr Bear-Squash-You-All-Flat, Act I Pas de trois and Neopolitan in Anthony Dowell’s production of Swan Lake, Gurn in Johan Kobborg’s production of August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, Napoli Divertissements, the Beggar Chief in MacMillan’s Manon, Bratfisch in Mayerling, Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, Jiří Kylián’s Sinfonietta, Magdaveya in Natalia Makarova’s production of La Bayadère, Romeo in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, the Blue Boy in Les Patineurs and Squirrel Nutkin in Tales of Beatrix Potter.
