Classical Ballet / Apprentice
Skylar Brandt was born in White Plains, New York and began her training at the age of six with teachers Diana White and Christian Claessens at Scarsdale Ballet Studio. She also studied with Valentina Kozlova, Fabrice Herrault, and Susan Jaffe. She attended the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre from 2005-2009 under the direction of Franco DeVita. Her performances with the JKO School include roles in Flames of Paris and Jessica Lang\\\'s La Belle Danse and Inspired By, as well as leading roles in original pieces by DeVita and Raymond Lukens. She has also danced the pas de trois and little swans from Kevin McKenzie’s Swan Lake.
Brandt spent five summers at ABT’s New York Summer Intensive, was a National Training Scholar from 2006-2009 and also received the Bender Foundation Scholarship in 2009. In the JKO School, Brandt performed leading roles in Les Sylphides, La Bayadère, Brian Reeder\\\'s Walk the Cake and Shhh..., and also danced in Études, Swan Lake, Joao Carvalho\\\'s Plenilunio, and George Balanchine’s Raymonda Variations.
