Sergei graduated with honors from the Kiev National Choreographic School where he studied with Vladimir Denisenko. His professional career began with the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Ukraine, where he danced in La Bayadère, Grand Pas Classique, Flower Festival, and Carnival of Venice. Sergei performed as a soloist with El Paso Ballet in roles that included Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, and the Cavalier in Cinderella. Since joining Ballet Arizona in 1997 Sergei has originated a featured role in Ib Andersen’s Play, and performed principal roles in The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake; in Balanchine’s Agon, Duo Concertant, Allegro Brillante, The Four Temperaments, and Serenade; in Antony Tudor’s The Leaves are Fading, and Bournonville’s Konservatoriet and Napoli. In addition to dancing with Ballet Arizona, Sergei sells real estate, and teaches dance around the Valley.
