Classical Ballet / Dancer
Sally Turkel is from Cary, North Carolina. She began her training at the Cary Ballet Conservatory. She later graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she was trained by Melissa Hayden and Warren Conover. She also spent summers training at the School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet and Stiefel and Stars, all on full-scholarship. Upon graduating, she joined Houston Ballet II under the direction of Claudio Munoz and Dawn Scannell. In 2008, she joined Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company, and was promoted to the Company in 2009. Since joining Colorado Ballet, Turkel has enjoyed dancing many roles. Some of her favorites include the Swan Corps in Swan Lake, Fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Souvenir in Great Galloping Gottschalk.
