Reis Ramon Gomes

Brazilian. Ramon Reis was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. After his dance studies in 1991 at the Mineiro Classical Dance Center and at the Shindowiski Gelsenkirchen Ballet in Germany, he begins his professional career in the latter company where he stayed until 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he works with NDT2 in Holland where he dances the repertoire of Jiri Kylian, Hans Van Manen and various others choreographers. In 1998, he joins NDT1 where he interprets the works of Jiri Kylian, Hans Van Manen and guest choreographers among whom are William Forsythe, Mats Ek and Saburo. From 1993 to 2002, he organizes various workshops as choreographer to the Shindowiski Ballet in 1993; he creates a small production for Cologne in 1994, and does the same regularly for NDT from 1995 to 2002.
He joined the Ballets de Monte-Carlo in July 2002. He has danced important roles in Jean-Christophe Maillot's creations: Dov'è la Luna, Vers un Pays Sage, Opus 40, Miniatures, D'Une Rive à l'Autre, Men's Dance, Noces, Œil pour Œil (the wolf), Cinderella (4 friends), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), La Belle (Prince's father), le Songe (artisans). He has also danced for the guest choreographers: Maurice Béjart (Boléro), William Forsythe (Ennemy in the Figure), Jiri Kylian (Bella Figura, Sinfonietta), Lionel Hoche (Balistik).
