Contemporary dance / Artistic Director
Philippe Saire was born in Algeria where he spent the first five years of his life. After moving to Lausanne, he trained in contemporary dance and then went abroad to pursue his training, including a spell in Paris.
In 1986, he created his own company. After putting down its roots in the Lausanne region, it has gone on to develop its own creative repertory. Around 10 years later, in 1995, he inaugurated its own creative workspace, the Théâtre Sévelin 36. The theater is entirely dedicated to contemporary dance and its goal is to promote and stimulate contemporary dance at local, national and international levels.
In 2006, the choreographer created Cargo 103, a new rehearsal studio proposing courses and training sessions for professional and amateur as well as creative residencies.
