Michael Downey has his MFA in Performance from the University of South Carolina, Bachelors in Performance from Ball State University, and Bachelors in Theatre Education from Indiana University Bloomington. Before moving to Chicago in August of 2009 he spent seven years as the head of the theatre program at a large Central Indiana high school, and two years teaching voice and diction at the University of South Carolina. After his recent move to Chicago, Michael has worked with The Strange Tree Group (Hey! Mr. Spaceman, King Phycus), First Folio Theatre (Jeeves in Bloom), 20% Theatre Company (The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek), and done some educational work with The American Theatre Company. He is currently working with Lifeline Theatre playing the title role in their childrens series production of “Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch”.
