Li Jie started her ballet training at the Shanghai Dance School in 2000 and graduated in 2007. During her training, she participated in the Tao Li Cup Dance Competition in 2006 and in the ballet competition Prix de Lausanne in 2007. In 2008, she joined the Hong Kong Ballet as a full-time dancer where she performed in classical pieces such as Coppélia, Swan Lake, Giselle and The Nutcracker.
