Born in Tbilisi, Georgia.
In 1992 Kandelaki graduated from the Tbilisi V. Chabukiani State Choreographic School under the supervision of Vakhtang Chabukiani, Nino Didebulidze and Margarita Grishkevich.
Kandelaki’s debut on the stage of the Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre was held in Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet Cinderella (staged by George Aleksidze). Soon the following parts were added to her repertoire: Odette-Odile (Swan Lake); Gamzat (La Bayadere); Javara (Gorda); Kitri (Don Quixote); Giselle (Giselle); Mari (Nutcracker), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Bess (Porgy and Bess). She danced leading parts in all of George Aleksidze’s ballets.
