Grange Katherine

Classical Ballet / Dancer

Originally from Tauranga, Katherine joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2010 as the TODD scholar.

Dancing since the age of four, she is a fan of the classics – especially Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty but says she also enjoys neo-classical and contemporary productions. In short, she likes dance!

Her first experience performing with the RNZB was when she was still a student and she joined the La Sylphide tour in 2009 performing as a Sylph.

To get to where she is today, Katherine trained at the Dance Education Centre in Tauranga and the New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington.

While dance is a silent art form, in her spare time Katherine likes to sing. She a fan of comedian Ricky Gervais and, while she loves anything that will make her laugh, she thinks old British humour is the best.

One of her favourite ‘hobbies’ is to enjoy a beer in the sun.
