Ilkem Ulugün comes from Turkey, currently one of the youngest and most exciting contemporary dance scenes. She acquired dance knowledge in Turkey and later in Austria, where she studied at SEAD in Salzburg. Her formal dance range is wide and comprises various techniques, from classical, modern to contemporary, improvisation and contact improvisation, as well as relaxation, therapeutic and creative techniques. She worked with numerous choreohraphers, in Turkey with one of the most promising young choreographers Tugce Tuna, and also with Douglas Becker, Daniel Graca, Ori Flomin, Rebecca Murgi, Milan Kozanek, Superamas, Fernanda Reis, and others. Ikem is also involved in teaching, and has taught classes in Turkey, Slovenia, and SEAD, Germany.
