G onzalo Galguera was born in Cuba. From 1979 to 1987 he studied at the Escuela Nacional de Ballet de Cuba in Havana. In 1984 he was awarded the second prize of the National Choreography in Havana. In 1987 he graduated with a diploma as a professional dancer and dance teacher of classical times and appeared in 1988 at an engagement as a dancer at the Ambos Mundos Ballet under the artistic direction of Alicia Alonso. In 1989 he won the prize for best Partenaire and Second Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Lima / Peru. In 1990 he danced as a soloist at the Ballet Municipal de Lima, as well as a principal dancer with the Ballet María de Ávila in Madrid / Spain.

From 1991 to 1999 Galguera Gonzalo was a member of the Berlin Comic Opera Ballet. Since 1992, he developed designs for the German Opera Berlin, the Berlin Comic Opera, the Berlin Academy of Arts, the Ballet Municipal de Lima / Peru, the Centro Coreográfico de Valencia / Spain, the Incolballett Cali / Colombia and the International Ballet Festival in Havana, where He most recently the world premiere of \"A los Aires presented\". In 1999 he received a nomination as \"Best Young Choreographer of the Year\" at the international critics\' poll of the magazine \"Ballet\" internationally. His work \"pilgrimage\" was honored in 1998 with the first prize of the Ibero-American Choreography Competition in Madrid. From 1999 to 2004 Galguera worked as a ballet director and chief choreographer of the ballet at the Dessau Anhalt Theatre Dessau. During this time more than twenty works written for the ballet dessau, including numerous world premieres. 2004 Galguera worked as guest choreographer at the Ballet del Teatro Argentino de La Plata / Argentina, the performance of \"Romeo and Juliet\". His first ballet premiere of the Magdeburg Gonzalo Galguera created in the 2004/2005 season \"with the symphonic ballet\" Credo, in the 2005/2006 season, he sat with Astor Piazzolla\'s tango-ballet Magdeburg opera \"María de Buenos Aires\" in the scene. Since the start of the 2006/2007 season, Gonzalo Galguera directs the artistic director and chief choreographer of the ballet, the fate of Magdeburg.
