French. Born in 1967, Gaëtan Morlotti began to dance at the age of 13, in Ajaccio in Corsica. He continued his training in Paris with Serge Golovine and Félix Malinowski, and after graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris , entered Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, where he remained until 1988. At that date he joined Jean-Christophe Maillot's company in Tours, returning to Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo as a soloist in September 1993.
Gaëtan Morlotti has subsequently been a noteworthy presence in new works by Jean-Christophe Maillot (Dov'è la luna, Home, Sweet Home, Theme and 4 Variations, Ubuhuha, Vers un Pays Sage, Concert d'Anges, Romeo and Juliet -role of Friar Laurence, l'Île, Cinderella, The Nutcraker Circus -role of "Drossel" in "Drosselmeier"), the Queen and the fairy Carabosse in La Belle, Opus 40, Le Songe as well as dancing major roles in the "Ballets Russes" repertoire (Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor, Sheherazade), and in ballets by Lucinda Childs (The Chairman Dances), Nacho Duato (Duende), William Forsythe (The Vile Parody of Address et Approximate Sonata), John Neumeier (Petrushka) and Mirror's Edge by Karole Armitage, Blue Grass by Itzik Galili and recently Getting Started de Jacopo Godani.
