At a young age, Etienne started dancing in Oyonnax, France. He joined the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2003. A During his time at the school, he performed in classical pieces such as La Somnambule by George Balanchine, a principal role in Scaramouche by José Martinez and Concerto en Ré by Claude Bessy as well as in contemporary works like Yondering by John Neumeier and Symphony in 3 Movements by Nils Christe.
