Emmerich Schmollgruber was born in Linz, Austria, and grew up in South Africa. His first ballet lessons at the age of six years and completed his dance training at the Dance School of the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa, etc. Prof. Elizabeth Triegaart, Dr. Eduard Greyling, Sharon Friedman, Diane Cheesman, Maxwell Xolani Rani and Lindy Raizenberg. At 21, he completed his studies in Cape Town with the dance teacher diploma. He completed his training at the Richmond Academy of Dance in Vancouver, USA, etc. in Beverly Bagg and Annette Jokubowski. 2006 to 2008 he was first hired as a group dancer and then as a soloist at the Cape Town City Ballet. There he danced e.g. Albrecht in \"Giselle\", Danilo Danilovich in \"The Merry Widow\" and Romeo in \"Romeo and Juliet\". Since January 2009 he is a member of Ballet Theatre of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. 2010 and 2011 he was awarded the Oscar Theatre of the Rheinische Post.
