Classical Ballet / Dancer

Elye grew up in La Porte, Texas and began dancing at age four. He trained primarily at the Houston Ballet Academy on full scholarship. Elye began dancing professionally with Houston Ballet where he performed principal roles in Christopher Bruce’s Ghost Dances, Marius Petipa’s La Bayadere and Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker. He then danced with Ballet West where he enjoyed dancing the title role in Septime Webre’s Peter Pan and the lead role in Glen Tetley’s The Rite of Spring. Elye has also danced soloist roles in Giselle, Sawn Lake, and The Sleeping Beauty. Since joining Ballet Arizona in 2004 Elye has danced principle roles in Bournonville’s La Sylphide, Ib Andersen’s The Nutcracker, and George Balanchine’s Agon and The Four Temperaments. Elye holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Arizona State University and is married to Ballet Arizona’s Education and PR Manager, Katrina Olson and together they have two young children. When he’s not dancing, Elye enjoys cooking and working as a Theatre Technician.
