From Santa Clarita, California, is in his second season with The Washington Ballet. Mr. Ward began ballet at the age of 10, and received his early training at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. While at SCBA, he was trained in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus and was awarded the highest ranking distinction in all of his examinations. Mr. Ward started attending the San Francisco Ballet School\'s Summer Session on scholarship when he was 15, and at 17 he accepted an offer to stay for the year-round program. At the San Francisco Ballet School, Mr. Ward was chosen by John Neumeier to perform a principal role in the U.S. premiere of Yondering. He performed this role as the opening piece for the San Francisco Ballet\'s 75th Anniversary Gala as well as the 2008 Student Showcase. During his second year in San Francisco, he participated in the Trainee Program and performed roles by George Balanchine, Helgi Tomasson, and John Neumeier, among others. During his first season at The Washington Ballet Dylan performed Melancholic in Balanchine\'s The Four Temperaments as well as roles in works by Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, Edwaard Liang, Septime Webre and Karole Armitage.
