Classical Ballet / Dancer

David Odenwelder, a native of Haverhill Massachusetts, began studying ballet, jazz, and tap at The Dance Works at the age of three and supplimented his training at New England Civic Ballet. Summer intensives David has partipicated in include Joffrey Midwest and the Atlanta Ballet. He is currently attending the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) under the instruction of Deirdre Carberry, Shellie Cash, Yi-Qi Cheng, Qi Jiang, Ka-Ron B. Lehman, and Michael Tevlin. He will be receiving a B.F.A in Dance Performance in the spring of 2011. At CCM; David performed the male principal role in George Balanchine’s Pas de Dix, set by Ballet Russe etoile, Frederic Franklin. Other performances included a world premier by Hannah Baumgarten and Diego Salterini from Dance Now! Miami entitled Jazz Sweet as well as other premiers by the Dance Department faculty. David has performed with Dayton Ballet in The Three Musketeers by Chirstopher Fleming, Cincinnati Ballet for their 2009-2010 season and Neos Dance Theatre in Heinz Poll’s Eight by Benny Goodman.
