Classical Ballet / Dancer
Danae Quevedo was born in Caracas, Venezuela where she started her ballet training in Caracas under the direction of the teachers Nina Novak and Ruta Butviliene. Ms. Quevedo continued her professional training under scholarship at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC where she graduated and received her artistic certificate of Vaganova technique. She also received a scholarship to the Washington Ballet and won special recognition in Venezuela. Ms. Quevedo has been danced professionally with Ballet Clasico de Camara, Ballet Teresa Carreno and Ballet Contemporaneo de Caracas in Venezuela, and Compania de Danza Clasica de Jalisco, Mexico where she performed as a soloist dancer in productions of The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Le Bayadere, Les Sylphides, Carmina Burana and Paquita among others. Danae has also been a teacher in the faculty of escuela Nacional de Danza in Caracas and academies in the city of Guadalajara. This is Ms. Quevedo\'s first season with Ballet San Antonio.
