Christopher Sellars trained under his parents for eight years at Orange County Dance Center in Huntington Beach, California. He continued his training at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under many instructors including renowned choreographer Christopher Fleming. Christopher’s most recent roles with Ballet West include Ariel in Michael Smuin’s The Tempest; Goro in Stanton Welch’s Madame Butterfly; Lead Athlete in Bronislava Nijinska’s Les Biches; the Son in George Balanchine’s Prodigal Son; Puck in Sir Frederick Ashton’s The Dream; the pas de deux from Vasily Vainonen’s Flames of Paris; Waltz of the Flowers and Grand Pas de Deux from Willam Christensen’s The Nutcracker; Pas de Deux and Spanish from Adam Sklute’s newly conceived and produced Swan Lake; and Lead Regiment from Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes.
Christopher credits the guidance of Ballet West’s Artistic Staff for the continual improvements to his artistry.
