Classical Ballet / Dancer

Christopher is the newest recruit of the RNZB, joining the company in May 2010. He trained at the English National Ballet School between 1995 and 1998 and before that with the Royal Ballet as a Senior Associate.
His favourite productions are Romeo & Juliet, Three Musketeers and a Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Career highlights to date include helping to create the choreography for Hamlet and being a guest dancer with the Estonia Ballet in the role of D’Artagnan.

Christopher received the following praise from reviewers during his first season with the company performing as Jose in Carmen: “A strong and fluid dancer, Hinton-Lewis gives a powerful and convincing characterisation of an increasingly weak and morose Jose,” said the NZ Listener.

His pas de deux sequences were also noted, Theatreview saying, “He has strong technique and brings a great depth of feeling to his stylishly gymnastic bedroom duet with Boyle. His duet of yearning with Katie Hurst Saxon as Michaela is a stand out moment in the production.”
