Classical Ballet / Dancer
Christina Burnell was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. She received her first ballet training from 1988 until 1999 at the Bodenwiser Dance Centre in her hometown and from 1998 until 1999 at the Brent Street School of Performing Arts, Sydney. In 1999 she continued her ballet education at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart where she graduated in 2001.
After her graduation Christina Burnell danced as an apprentice with the Stuttgart Ballet in the 2001/02 season. In 2002 she went to the English National Ballet as a guest dancer for six weeks to dance in Dereck Deane’s Swan Lake. At the beginning of the 2003/04 season Christina Burnell was taken into the Stuttgart Ballet’s Corps de ballet.
Due to her singing skills she also performed Nina Simone’s Wild is the Wind in the revival of Christian Spuck’s Lulu. A Monstre Tragedy in the 2007/08 season.
