Shinay Brittany


Classical Ballet / Dancer

Ms. Shinay received her training from the Timothy M. Draper Center for Dance Education and the Boston Ballet School where she performed with the Boston Ballet in The Nutcracker. With the Rochester City Ballet her roles include Italian Ice and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, the Cat and the Duck in Peter and the Wolf, and Spanish Temptress and Cinderella in Cinderella. In addition, she danced in Jamey Leverett's Push & Pull, Overtones, How to Break a Heart, in MECA: Color Sound Music and as a featured performer in Bravo! Colorado and Hoedown, with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Competing at the Youth America Grand Prix in New York City, she shared a gold medal for Ms. Leverett's Symbion and was invited to Spoleto, Italy where she took part in the 50th anniversary of the Festival dei Due Mondi. Ms. Shinay has attended the American Ballet Theatre summer intensive in New York City and the Juilliard summer intensive. She was named a Merit Award winner in ballet by the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts and was accepted into the Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music BA in Dance program as well as the BFA in Dance program at The Juilliard School on scholarship.
