Ayami Miyata was born in Shiga, Japan. She started ballet at the age of six at Jun Ballet Gakuen. In 2006, she participated in the 5th Japan Grand Prix and won a scholarship from Academie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monaco, training under Mrs. Marika Besobrasova (Director) and Mr. Roland Vogel for three years. During her training, she performed in Monaco, France and Italy where she danced Jiří Kylián’s Symphony in D and George Balanchine’s Donizetti Variations and Paquita.
