Classical Ballet / Principal
Attila Bongar began his ballet training at age 10 and studied at the Hungarian Dance Academy for nine years, graduating in 1999. Immediately following the graduation, he represented Hungary at the Eurovision Ballet Competition in Lyon, France and then joined the corps de ballet of the Hungarian National Ballet; during the year he was there he was also was fortunate to learn soloist and principal roles. In spring 2000 he came to Carolina Ballet to be in the premiere productions of Robert Weiss’ Carmen and Lynne Taylor-Corbett’s Cabaret. In 2009, Bongar became a principal with the company.
