Annie Gagnon studied visual arts at Cégep de Joliette and Concordia University before turning to contemporary dance. After completing her program at Les Ateliers de danse moderne de Montréal (LADMMI) in 2002, she presented her first choreographical piece, Si j’étais une de ces femmes, in Tangente’s Danses buissonnières event. In 2005, with the help of grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, she created Lotus in the Art et Creation series at Gesù-Centre de Créativité and La Marche invisible at Tangente in winter 2010; she also danced in these two works. In April, she participated in the Recommandation 63 event as guest choreographer-performer. Besides her activities as choreographer and dancer, Annie has acted as rehearsal mistress for several other choreographers, and has fulfilled
this function at O Vertigo since September 2008.
