Annabelle Lopez Ochoa (30 April 1973), who is half-Colombian and half-Belgian, studied at the Royal Ballet Academy of Antwerp in Belgium.

She danced with two different companies in Germany – the B.W.-gung tanztheater Ulm and the Heidelberger Stadttheater – before joining Djazzex in 1993 in The Hague. She then joined the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam in 1997 under the artistic direction of Ed Wubbe and was a soloist with them for seven years. Annabelle has also danced in three films on dance directed by Marijke Jongbloed, Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen and Michel van der Aa.

Her choreographies have won several prizes, including the Hanover Choreography Competition in 2001 and first prize and the audience prize at the Bornem International Competition in 2002.

Annabelle retired from dancing in June 2003 to focus entirely on choreography. A very versatile choreographer, she is equally at home creating for ballet, theatre and opera. She has choreographed for the Scapino Ballet, the Dutch National Ballet, Djazzex, the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Royal Ballet of Flanders.
