Angel’s dance training began in college with the Footworks Dance Theater under Erwin Flores and Georgette Sanchez. In 2001, he joined the CCP Summer Dance Workshop, and in the same year, was accepted as a scholar and steadily rose to principal dancer of Ballet Philippines.

He has since performed in the company’s major productions including Shoes++, Darna and the Nutcracker. Under the mentorship of Augustus “Bam” Damian 111, Angel grew to become one of the company’s most important dancers, premiering many works such as Evacuation and works from Double Takes. He has essayed lead roles such as the Prince in Effie Na—as’ Snow White, Don Jose in Damian’s Carmen, and Don Rafael in Alice Reyes’ Amada.
