Amy Hazlewood was born in Seoul, South Korea, but began her dance training at the age of six in Newburgh, New York. She continued her training with Gwinnett Ballet Theater under the direction of Lynne Snipes in Atlanta, Georgia. A Cum Laude graduate of University of Georgia, she earned her BS in Dance Education and was a charter member of the University Ballet Ensemble where she performed principal roles in Les Sylphides, Le Grand Pas de Quatre, and Raymonda Grand Pas as well as many original works. During her senior year of college she performed the Lead Wild Flower role in Ballethnics Urban Nutcracker and in the world premiere of Lucas Village Fables. Now in her eightth season with Ballethnic Dance Company, Ms. Hazlewood has performed Brown Sugar in Urban Nutcracker and in the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival in New York, NY. Ms. Hazlewood is also an instructor and rehearsal director for the Ballethnic Academy of Dance.
