Amanda Dietzel is a native of San Antonio who has been training with Ballet San Antonio since age nine. Ms. Dietzel danced in Fort Worth Dallas Ballet’s Nutcracker, currently Texas Ballet Theater, at the age of seven and eight. Also, in 2007, at the age of 13, she had the opportunity to dance a supporting role in the Royal Ballet’s tour of Sleeping Beauty in San Antonio. For the past seven years, Ms. Dietzel has been performing in the Nutcracker every holiday season with Ballet San Antonio. Most recently, Ms. Dietzel performed in Ballet San Antonio’s spring production of Coppelia. When Ms. Dietzel was fourteen, she became a member of the Ballet San Antonio Junior Company. With BSAJC, Ms. Dietzel, competed in many dance competitions with ballet, lyrical and a pointe piece choreographed by former American Ballet Theatre dancer, Melissa Coyle Hale. The BSAJC won special recognition with platinum and gold medals, as well as first place for a group ballet piece. Ms. Dietzel has attended many summer intensives with Ballet San Antonio. This is her first season with Ballet San Antonio as a trainee.
