Classical Ballet / Soloist
Soloist Admill Kuyler, in Stellenbosch, South Africa born, first took ballet lessons with Joy Cooper at Pro Arte Alphen Park, Pretoria, South Africa. Trained in the Cecchetti method, he won the Mabel Ryan Award and all the prices Cecchetti Awards. In 2001 he became a member of the South African Ballet Theatre in Johannesburg. There he danced from 2003 as a soloist roles in ballets of the classical and contemporary repertoire, including Prince in The Nutcracker, Blue Bird in Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake and Laertes and Horatio in Kenneth Greve\'s Hamlet. In the 2007/2008 season was Admill Kuyler then a member of the ballet at the State Theater in Karlsruhe. Only a year later he was appointed artistic director of the soloists Birgit Keil. Here he danced leading roles as the widow Simone in Frederick Ashton\'s La Fille gardée times, Oberon in A Midsummer Night\'s Dream by Youri Vamos, El Tuerto, leader of the smugglers, in Ray Barra\'s Carmen and Rodrigo in the bed of Giulia Farnese of Jörg Mannes. Other roles have included Stiwa and Vronsky in Anna Karenina, in Modest Tchaikovsky, and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Count Paris by Kenneth MacMillan. His repertoire includes also Sonata and Piano Concerto in E Major by Uwe Scholz, Suite sporty Ralf Jaroschinski, Le Sacre du Printemps by Davide Bombana, the role of Redbeard in Christopher Wheeldon Swan and various solo roles in Youri Vamos\' The Nutcracker - A Christmas Carol . In addition, Heinz Spoerli Admill Kuyler danced in the ballet evening romantic nocturnes.
