Avodah Dance Ensemble
Avodah Dance Ensemble, a modern dance company based in New York City, is dedicated to dance making and community building. Guided by “Tikkun Olam,” a Hebrew tenet for "making the world a better place," Avodah fuses the art of dance with a strong sense of social service.
Avodah's performances and interactive programs use dance, music, storytelling and the study of text to build bridges with audiences of diverse traditions and cultures. Avodah, which means "service" in Hebrew, tours nationally, presenting its repertory in a wide range of venues including women's prisons, concerts, spiritual services, arts festivales, family celebrations, and educational programs.
