Pfalztheater

On 30 September 1995, the new Pfalztheater at Willy-Brandt-Platz opened with a big opening weekend and under the direction of the theater doors open Pavel fever to an enthusiastic audience.

After almost 40 years was the "temporary theater" at Fackelrondell an end. With the resources of the Palatinate Theatre District Association entity Palatinate, Rhineland-Palatinate and the city of Kaiserslautern was a long-held desire for a modern theater reality.
This multifunctional home with musical theater (opera, musicals, operetta), drama and ballet houses two performance venues: the Big House (Capacity: 730 seats) and workshop stage (up to 200 seats).
In addition to music theater, drama and ballet ensemble has the Pfalztheater its own orchestra (TVK compensation class B) and a house choir.
300 full-time employees provide before and behind the scenes for a varied program in all divisions. The Palatinate Theatre offers a wide range of subscription options and a generous discount offer for students, trainees, military and civil service and the handicapped.
Per season are 9 opera and ballet premieres and 6 drama premieres on the program of the Great House. At the Workshop Theatre presents the Pfalztheater a diverse selection of drama, opera and ballet productions. In addition, children's theater, concerts, children's concerts, recitals, guest performances and foyer programs are offered. Special Productions offers Pfalztheater also in unusual locations outside and in the theater basement U2. Mobile productions and guest performances in Rhineland-Palatinate and also emphasize the function as a regional theater.
