National Youth Ballet
The dancers of the National Youth Ballet act as mediators. Seeking to transmit their enthusiasm and passion about dance to the audience. Inversing the existing order. Bringing art into society. They come to see us – not the other way around. Approaching those who don’t usually have the opportunity to watch ballet. Being committed and cooperative: Rond de jambe in retirement homes, Pirouette in prisons, Soutenu in schoolyards. Dance as a social experience. In Hamburg, in Germany, abroad. Impulses stem from both intuition and intention. The dancers improvise, interpret, inspire. Their feelings are thought-provoking. Thoughts that translate into feelings. Close to the audience, close to the others, close to themselves.
Seeking a connection to the young generation. Creatively reflecting their concerns. Gaining new audiences for ballet.
With modesty and complete devotion.
