Leipziger Ballett
The Leipzig Ballet, whose origins date to the late 17th Century rich, is one of the major international companies. His first Leipzig premiere of "The Creation", still flagship of the neoclassical influenced company followed, symphonic ballets like "The Great Mass," "Seventh Symphony" and "Bruckner 8", which were shown on guest appearances throughout Europe and in Hong Kong. After the death of Uwe Scholz in 2004, the new ballet director Paul Chalmer others continued with a three-year Stravinsky cycle of major initiatives.
Mario Schröder has since 2010/11 as a ballet director and chief choreographer of the acquired company. Previously, he worked in the same positions in Würzburg and Kiel, created more than 60 choreographies in Japan, USA, Russia, Mongolia and France as well as for major German theaters such as the German Opera, the Comic Opera Berlin and the Aalto Ballet Theater Essen. He worked with Ruth Berghaus, Maxim Dessau, Nikolaus Lehnhoff and Uwe Scholz and has won numerous choreography competitions.
