The Company AMDaT is a New York based ensemble of dancers and designers established in 1998 by Swiss born director/choreographer, visual artist and performer Andrea Haenggi. The company is dedicated to creating visual motion constructions, live performances of contemporary dance that cross boundaries between art disciplines (video, film, architecture) and technology and find new possibilities for presentations in nontraditional sites and theaters.
The company has been presented internationally in Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Canada and in a 4-week residency with performances at the TSEH Russian Dance Platform in Moscow. U.S. venues include Dance Theater Workshop, the World Financial Center, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Center's Sitelines Festival, the Cooper Hewitt Museum, MASS MoCA, the Ohio Theater, the Swiss Peaks Festival, the European Dream Festival, DanceNow, the Boston/Ideas in Motion Festival, the Open for Dancing Festival, and self produced works in low income neighborhoods.
