But nowhere have we found Raymonda. Search through the lineage of the great families in the 13th century and you will find over and over again the names Sybilla, Isabella, Maria, Blanche, Agnes, Alice, Adele, Eleanor and many, many others – but never a Raymonda. So where is she?
We know a lot about Jean de Brienne since he is the most historically documented character in the ballet and it is the adventures of our chivalrous hero that we shall be relating in part three of our journey in search of Raymonda.
