After coaching Matthew in the role of Prince Sigfried in the Ballet Society of Colorado Springs' full length production of Swan Lake, Ahita Ardalan Bergman formerly of Paris Opera Ballet was brought to tears and commented "[He is]...a vision of Rudolph Nereyev, from his body structure and dance quality and passion on stage, to his way of flying though air and drawing the audience into him when he is dancing." Photos from the production can be viewed at www.pictage.com/1258089 Photographer Ted Mehl referred to Matt as "The Flying Helmsman"
